Microsoft Unveils Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and Vision for Cloud ERP

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Kirill Tatarinov, corporate vice president for Microsoft Business Solutions, today opened a sold-out Convergence 2011 to more than 9,000 attendees, demonstrating how companies can use Microsoft Dynamics to maximize the value of their existing technology investments, remain agile as market conditions change and ultimately become dynamic businesses that can win in any environment.

dynamics

Building on the success of Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, the company revealed a path for its ERP customers to move to the cloud with the next major releases of Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions, which will run on the Windows Azure platform. Customers will be able to move to the cloud on their own terms. The Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions will bring the same benefits in the cloud as they do on-premises.In addition to resources such as the profitability guide, independent software vendors (ISVs) and partners will also be able to showcase Microsoft Dynamics cloud-enabled vertical solutions, add-ons and services on the Microsoft Dynamics Marketplace. This makes it simple for customers to try and buy solutions that fit their specific business needs and gives partners an opportunity to reach a broader audience and grow their business.

Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 frees customers from the electronic concrete that has plagued the ERP industry for so long,” Tatarinov said. Customers want flexible yet cost- effective business applications that work the way they do instead of being forced to adapt to the software..

In keeping with the level of commitment to innovation across the entire Microsoft Dynamics portfolio of ERP and CRM solutions, Microsoft also announced the following:

Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011, which gives businesses a faster time to value through integration with Microsoft Project 2010, is now generally available.

The on-premises version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011, which delivers familiar, intelligent and connected experiences to users across an organization, is now generally available. More than 27,000 customers and 1.7 million users are benefiting from Microsoft Dynamics CRM worldwide, including companies such as American National Standards Institute, Hard Rock International and Sandri Companies.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2, which offers customers built-in integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and enhanced data visualizations capabilities, was delivered ahead of schedule in December 2010.

Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2, which increases customer agility through significant business intelligence capability enhancements, will be generally available May 1, 2011

Disable the taskbar preview window pop-ups

As I have surfed many forums and found one common problem for Windows 7 user is the TASKBAR previews.

I personally found this is a very handy feature when switching between windows, but MS has not given a simple way to disable the previews.

we have researched a REG hack to do this , a way we found is set the hover time to a long value.  When you hover mouse on the running icon on taskbar, the preview will come after a long time..

here is the steps to follow..

1. Open Regedit by the use of RUN command or start menu search go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

3. right click on right pane Create a new DWORD called ExtendedUIHoverTime and set the value to 20000 (that's 20 seconds) or value of your wish..

for that much of seconds it will not pop up.. so by hopefully turned off.

Please let me know if you have any query!!!

IE 9 Add-on Performance Advisor a new safety tool

A new version of the Add-on Performance Advisor which helps keep you safe from add-ons that might slow down your browser.

Web browser add-ons are pretty much what they sound like. They're features that you can add on to your browser to make it faster, more efficient, or just more fun. In Internet Explorer 9 if an add-on is slowing down your web browsing experience, you'll see a warning in the notification bar that tells you how to disable the add-on or fix the problem.

advisor

In IE 9 we can see the add-ons that we already have installed by clicking the gear icon, and then clicking Manage Add-ons.

Some examples of add-ons are:

  • Accelerators that let we select a word on a website to get the dictionary definition
  • Extra toolbars to help we search faster
  • Animated mouse pointers
  • Stock tickers
  • Pop-up ad blockers

See more add-ons at the Internet Explorer Add-ons Gallery.

To help protect ourself against dangerous add-ons:

  • Download software from a site that you trust, such as the Internet Explorer Add-ons Gallery.
  • Use a firewall.
  • Use automatic updating to keep your operating system up-to-date. And don't forget to turn on automatic updating for the add-on itself. If that's not an option, then check for updates periodically from the publisher.
  • Use antivirus software and antispyware software such as Microsoft Security Essentials and keep it updated.

Microsoft is planning to release Service Pack 1 for Office for Mac 2011 next week, with improved syncing support.

Microsoft is planning on releasing its first service pack for Office for Mac 2011 the week of April 11,Once Office for Mac 2011 supports syncing between Apple Sync Services and Outlook for Mac, users will be able to sync their Outlook calendar, notes, contacts and tasks with any device supporting Apple’s Sync Services, including the iPhone and iPad.

However, those syncing their iPhone or iPad calendars with the new version of Apple’s MobileMe cannot sync with the Outlook 2011 SP1 calendar, something the posting attributes to “the broken link between MobileMe and Sync Services.” However, Outlook will remain capable of syncing MobileMe Mail via IMAP, as well as Contacts and Notes.
